These butter cookies are similar to the cookies I grew up with.
I love those soft cookies that are very American to me, but I was in a mood for something different.
I dressed them with lemon icing mostly because I feel it is expected, but I actually really enjoyed these cookies without the icing.

This is a “lemon” butter cookie recipe, but I will use it to make other cookies, like vanilla, by just removing the lemony ingredients.
