A hamburger with blue cheese was always my husband’s favorite.
Since I recently made a fresh batch of vegan blue cheese, I thought it was time to make a burger for him.
A homemade bun, homemade vegan mayo, Dijon mustard, arugula, soy burger from Aldi, Japanese Worcestershire sauce, fried onion, and blue cheese.
A lot of blue cheese!
And this one was for me.
Double portabella steaks in place of a soy burger.
The homemade buns were made with fresh rosemary.
I hope everyone had a great start of the week!

Looks delicious! What is the cookbook for your vegan cheese? I’d like to check that out. It looks like the real thing! Do the cheese really taste like their real dairy counterparts?

The book is called “Vegan Cheese: Simple, Delicious Plant-Based Recipes” by Jules Aron. I’ve tried Gorgonzola, Feta, and Mozzarella from the book so far. Gorgonzola and Feta are fantastic, and I make them frequently. They taste pretty convincing. If you try, I would be interested in hearing what you think! 🙂

Thanks, I’ll look for that. But your Cheddar is from a different source. That looks good too. I must say though, your burger photo is phenomenal. You could open a restaurant, just saying!

Correct. I use this recipe for my cheddar. This is a great recipe too. Terry likes cheddar as “dip” not slices, so often times I omit agar (I do adjust the saltiness by adding some liquid, though). Thank you, Lori, for your kind words! I’m really flattered, especially when they come from you. 🙂
